Strong schools start with listening.
Whether you're a parent, grandparent, educator, homeschool family, student, taxpayer, or simply someone who cares about the future of our schools, your perspective is valuable. Stronger communities are built when elected officials listen before they lead. That's why I am asking for your input!
This brief 5-7 minute Community Priorities Survey is an opportunity to help identify what matters most to you and your family. The best decisions are informed by the people they affect.
Safety In Relationships
As a survivor of sexual assault and a toxic, emotionally abusive relationship, I understand the importance of providing resources that our children can take into adulthood to keep them safe.
Solution: Coordinate optional programs for middle- to high-school students to learn the ins and outs of safe and healthy relationships.
Providing young people with education about healthy relationships is an important part of helping them develop confidence, communication skills, and a strong understanding of personal boundaries and respect. Youth should also know how to recognize unhealthy or unsafe behaviors and, just as importantly, understand where they can turn when they need help. Programs that teach children how to identify trusted adults, communicate concerns, and seek support can give them the tools to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. By creating safe, age-appropriate opportunities for these conversations, we can help ensure that every young person knows they are not alone and that asking for help is a sign of strength.
